Now this post will be on the 2x2. Now you may be asking why
I did this last is because this is not the most popular cube. Why? Because the 2x2 is
so small and unimportant in most people’s opinions. This cube is a bundle of
all of the previous cubes I talked about because you solve it like a 3x3 but
there are parities like a 4x4. None of the sides has a middle peace. Because of
this you have to imagine that there are middles like there is an extra piece. There
are 3,674,160 permutations or combinations that can be performed on this pocket
cube, the other name since it easily fits in your pocket. In contrast the 3x3
has 43,252,003,274,489,856,000 permutations. To put this in perspective if you
had as many Rubik’s cubes as there are permutations you would be able to cover
the earth’s surface 275 times. But now back to the pocket cube. This cube was
also invented by Erno Rubik the original inventor of the 3x3. Now we will get
to the records. The current world record is .65 seconds with only four
turns!!!! In my opinion it is the easiest to solve. With no experience on the
2x2 I solved it in under 2 minutes. The parities are the worst things in the
world. They are frustrating and can prevent you from getting your best time.
Many people say that the 2x2 is the easiest but I think that it all depends on
the cube you first learned with.
