Now this post will be on the 2x2. Now you may be asking why I did this last is because this is not the most popular cube. Why? Because the 2x2 is so small and unimportant in most people’s opinions. This cube is a bundle of all of the previous cubes I talked about because you solve it like a 3x3 but there are parities like a 4x4. None of the sides has a middle peace. Because of this you have to imagine that there are middles like there is an extra piece. There are 3,674,160 permutations or combinations that can be performed on this pocket cube, the other name since it easily fits in your pocket. In contrast the 3x3 has 43,252,003,274,489,856,000 permutations. To put this in perspective if you had as many Rubik’s cubes as there are permutations you would be able to cover the earth’s surface 275 times. But now back to the pocket cube. This cube was also invented by Erno Rubik the original inventor of the 3x3. Now we will get to the records. The current world record is .65 seconds with only four turns!!!! In my opinion it is the easiest to solve. With no experience on the 2x2 I solved it in under 2 minutes. The parities are the worst things in the world. They are frustrating and can prevent you from getting your best time. Many people say that the 2x2 is the easiest but I think that it all depends on the cube you first learned with.

Now I need to explain parities. Parities only occur on even number sided cubes. For instance this can occur on a 4x4 a 6x6 and an 8x8. Parities occur because there are no centers connected to the middle. Yes, that's right the pieces are all floating over the center. Parities are the mistakes that occur because of this. There are two types of parities. A middle edge parities, and outside edge parities. The middle edge is the two pieces before the outside. The edges are the very outside of the cube. Parities can get very annoying especially is you are going on your best time and then you find a parity. How frustrating!!!!!!! IT is a very good learning experience for people who think that they can solve everything since they can solve a 2x2 and a 3x3. People understand to little these days. 4x4 is the worst most confusing for a beginner so listen. Please do the 2x2 than the 3x3 and then try the 4x4. As for competitions on the 4x4 they are hard to find. I say don’t worry about the 4x4, 5x5, 6x6, 7x7, 8x8, 9x9, and definitely the 11x11. 11x11’s are just there for looks. Anyways now I will explain the 4x4 cube in it’s whole.  49.11 seconds is the current world record. This is a lot slower than the 3x3 but it this is a 4x4.
