The Cube

Dayan speed cube |
You may think solving a Rubik’s cube is impossible but it is
the opposite. There are over 100 ways to solve a Rubik’s cube. The cube was
engineered by a Hungarian engineer named Erno Rubik in 1974. The little bundle
of frustration is more than just a cube 3x3x3 with 54 tiles and each side is a
different color. If you didn’t know already the goal is to scramble and then
make each face the same color. The only part of the cube that spins is the
middle piece. It rotates 360 degrees and that is the magic. Erno was not the
only one to come up with the puzzle. Terutoshi Ishigi, a Japanese inventor
independently came up with an identical design in 1976. Today pro cubers prefer
ZhanChi made by Dayan, a Chinese company,
because of its smooth mechanism. Dayan makes the cube for speed. The ZhanChi 5
is my favorite because in my opinion it spins the best and it also cuts corners
best. In fact I like the Dayan better than any other cube. The speed is
incredible. My best solving time is 30 seconds!!!! Yes I know, many people can
beat me since the fastest time is 5.5 seconds!!!!!!!!! I strongly suggest that people
should buy the Dayan but there is one problem. If you are not careful the
pieces can snap off the cube. On the Rubik’s cube it is easy to put back
together but on the Dayan every piece is attached to the center. If you do not
put all of the pieces on in the right order the pieces will again fall out.
